Empty Spaces Cinema is a not-for-profit community cinema project in Liverpool.
We believe that we can create cinema spaces wherever the community wants them.
We create pop-up screenings in unusual places with the help of people who live there and reflect the space.
Using community members we pull together bespoke cinema events across Merseyside utilising empty, disused or unusual spaces to free them up for cinemas.
We work with film festivals and community groups to bring people together, learn more about the world around them and love film.
If you’re interested in joining us or have a space you want to see become a cinema, get in touch
We’ve created screenings at The Gregson Institute, Handyman Supermarket, The VInes pub, George Henry Lee’s Building, Claremont Farm, OUTPUT Gallery and The Walker Art Gallery
